To manage the different GEMPHP versions, we use branches. A branch specifies a GEMPHP version. There are 3 types of branches: BETA (b), RELEASE CANDIDATE (rc) and RELEASE (r).

A BETA branch is a branch ending with .b and it is used to refer to the latest development version. For example 2.0.b is a beta branch. You must never use a BETA branch for a working website. Use a beta branch only for testing!

A RELEASE CANDIDATE branch is a branch ending with .rc You can use release candidate branches in production websites. There are finished versions but untested enough to be considered a RELEASE branch.

A RELEASE branch is a branch ending with .r Release branches are the safest GEMPHP versions to use. Those versions are long tested in working websites.
